9.16 Clarification - The combat effect of towns is simply to decrease the defender's numeric result by one - period. The combat effect of cities is threefold: The defender's combat strength is doubled before calculating combat odds. The defender's combat result is decreased by one. The attacker's combat result is increased by one.
Unit Counters: Ignore the "2" printed on the upper-left corner of the German 42nd Infantry Corps. The set-up chart on the map is correct as to its at-start strength and location.
